Sarnia-Lambton MP Pat Davidson Pleased With Health Study

Sarnia-Lambton’s MP is hopeful a Wind Turbine Noise & Health Study will prompt lots of public feedback.
Health Canada announced the study Tuesday saying it will focus on a targeted 2-thousand dwellings located near 8 to 12 wind turbine installation facilities in Canada.

Investigators will conduct in-person interviews, take indoor and outdoor noise measurements, and monitor blood pressure. Results are expected to be published in 20-14.
Anti-Turbine Rally

It could be the largest anti-wind turbine rally to date. Opponents from across the province will be in Toronto this morning marching outside the Ontario Feed-in Tariff Forum, a wind industry conference at the Metro Convention Centre. The Middlesex-Lambton Wind Concern group is making the trip. Esther Wrightman expects as many as 50 to board the bus.
Lambton has ten wind turbines operating in the Kettle Point-Ravenswood area with four more to come on line soon near Watford. Dozens more are on the drawing board.
Plympton-Wyoming supports moratorium & 2km setback

Plympton-Wyoming is the latest municipality to call for a moratorium on wind farm development….
Mayor Lonny Napper says his council is endorsing the move because if opponents killed the prospects of a natural gas-fed power plant near Toronto, he believes the same tact should work locally…
Napper accuses the province of turning its back on rural Ontario.
He says a health study on wind turbines is still needed.
Turbine War of Words

The Leader of the Middlesex Wind Action Group is expressing her frustration with the provincial government, saying concerns over the health impacts of wind turbines are being ignored. Esther Wrightman organized a rally at Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Maria Van Bommel’s Strathroy office last weekend.
She says she was promised by the MPP that the concerns would be raised at Queen’s Park, but it turned out to be an opportunity for Van Bommel to advance the Liberal government’s green agenda instead.
Van Bommel disagrees.
Some 80 protestors said Saturday a moratorium on new wind farms is needed until health impact studies are completed.
